At The Goldworks we have the capability to create anything you can imagine. During our design process we first determine what you want to make and do basic pencil sketches. From there, the design materializes through a 3D design in our CAD software. The model is then rendered into an image of the finished piece of jewellery that is exceptionally accurate to it's real life counterpart.
The 3D model is then sent into a milling machine or rapid prototyper to be formed in wax. Through induction casting the wax model is then transformed into the metal of your choice. Finally it heads to our Goldsmith benches for finishing, assembly and stone setting.
After the final polishing your one of a kind piece of jewellery is complete.
One of the most popular services we offer is the redesign of old and worn out jewellery. Use all of your old gold and gemstones to create beautiful new jewellery.

After a jewellery design is decided on, it is imported into our Gemvision Matrix 3D jewellery design software (pictured above). This software enables us to create a 3D model of the jewellery exactly to scale. Once the model has been created in 3D it is also very easy to make any changes you may want to the jewellery design. This program also produces high quality rendered images of the 3D jewellery model so you are able to see exactly what your jewellery will look like in metal with all of the stones. For examples of jewellery models The Goldworks has created please visit our 3D designed gallery.

Our most recent addition in modern jewellery design technology is our Solidscape T76 plus rapid prototyping machine. This machinery allows us to grow highly detailed wax models of 3D designed jewellery in our store. Rapid prototyping is the most accurate method of building wax jewellery models today and it enables us to build fine details like lattice and filigree which can be cast metal (Gold and Platinum). We are the only jewellery shop in Southern Alberta with this advanced technology. Rapid prototyping is ideal for class rings, complex diamond rings or even converting a family members photo into a 3D jewellery design. Once we've finalized a jewellery design and a 3D model has been created, we can mill the 3D model into wax with our Gemvision REVO mill (pictured above). This machine connects with our 3D jewellery software and accurately cuts out an exact replication of the 3D model into wax. The wax model can then be cast into metal with our induction casting system.

One of our latest additions to our store is our Romanoff induction casting machine. This new machine casts gold and silver at exact temperatures which produces very high quality castings with little to no porosity and defects in the metal.
